Non-USA sales:
The system automatically includes a 110 volt power supply. We do offer a 100v and 220V power supply if requested. You may use the US 1-32 numbering system or you may print and view charts using the international Quadrant tooth numbering system.
There are new options for Voice Call-Outs in Male/Female Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Swedish, Finnish, Japanese and Korean. You may also have the chart printed in German, Japanese, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. A Russian version is available through our Russian distributor.
Patient Education:
We recommend that you send a chart home with each patient. Once a patient can visualize what a 5mm pocket looks like and how that relates to bone loss, they seek therapy and improve home care. Since periodontal disease is often asymptomatic, patient education plays a key role in motivating patients. The Patient Education include an 8.5 x 11 patient handout and 4 informational movies. For more information please click the button below.
Additional Printouts:
In addition to the Graphical chart you may also print out a Numerical chart displaying the data to the nearest 0.2mm resolution. A Tooth History report can be done showing all the visits for a specified tooth. A larger version of the Plaque chart can also be printed to send home with the patient to improve home care. For your patients we have a take home Patient Education Handout that you may print oppossite of the chart.
Time to Chart:
A full periodontal exam with an experienced hygienist is designed to take 10 - 13 minutes. The software will automatically advance to the next site as new data is being entered. The Probe moves in a set path and skips missing teeth as you skip them in the mouth to always stay on track.
Female Voice:
As data is entered to the chart you will hear a female voice call out all data for the patients' benefit. This keeps them very in tune with the exam and the computer is often found to be more believable. The computer also calls out "midline" and "changing arches" so that the hygienist will always stay on track, never ending the visit being off by a tooth at the end of charting.
Full Perio Exam:
The Probe Handpiece will allow you to enter recession data (1, 2 or 6 sites) from the CEJ and also to record pocket depth data (6 sites) to the nearest 0.2mm resolution. The footswitch will allow you to enter no attached gingiva, minimal attached gingiva, bleeding, suppuration, plaque, furcations, tooth mobility and missing teeth. You can back up at any time to correct errors, bring up help screens and even print from the footswitch.
Solo Operator:
The Florida Probe uses a three pedal footswitch to allow a solo operator to enter an entire exam without touching the keyboard and breaking asepsis. This is faster and more reliable than voice activation.
Deep Sites:
Pocket depth sites are graphically shown as black bars to visually educate patients about bone loss. Once they pass a warning level set by the dentist (4.0mm by default) they turn red so that deep sites are easy to see by a quick scan of the chart. The red color helps identify any problem areas.
Change Arrows:
Instead of printing 2 charts to look for active sites, we do the math for you. Any time significant change is found (1-2mm) a black arrow (up for good, down for bad) is printed next to the pocket depth number. Drastic change (more than 2mm) is shown with a red or green arrow to highlight active sites.
USB to Serial cable adapter:
The USB to Serial adapter cable is used with computers that do not have a serial port RS232 available. If your computer does not have the required port you may need to order this simple cable adapter in order to have your FP32 System funtioning properly. This part can often be found at your local computer store but if you are unable to find one you may order from the Florida Probe at an estimated retail price of $49.00. For installation instructions, please click here.
Connection to Computer:
The Florida Probe will connect to a laptop or full-sized computer through the serial port or a special USB adapter cable.
Network Capabilities:
The software is designed to be easily networked. In fact there is no extra software licensing fee to install the FP32 software to every computer in the office.
File Size:
The FP32 software installs from CD-Rom and takes up 25MB on the hard drive. Patient visits are permanently stored for future retrieval and approximately 400,000 patients visits can be stored per Gigabyte.
Linking to PM Software:
The FP32 software links to almost all of the practice management software programs. Contact your vendor for details.
Sterilization:
The Handpiece detaches to become fully Autoclavable so there are no disposables to purchase. The titanium tips can also be changed should they become damaged. Three Handpieces and extra tips come with each System.
Warranty:
There is a full 2 year "Parts and Labor" warranty included on every component in the System. We offer free technical support for the life of the unit.
Tip Details:
The tips are marked with a 3, 6, 9mm blue band for better visual reference. Each tip has a standard 0.45mm flat bottom tip with rounded edges for maximum patient comfort and accuracy. Tips are slightly flexible for better access to bulbous teeth and have a maximum travel of 11mm.
Constant Probing Force:
The Handpiece delivers a standard 15 grams of pressure to provide the ideal pressure for accuracy and patient comfort. The probe records each measurement to 0.2mm accuracy and makes comparisons to previous data "on the fly" to spot change quicker and more accurately.
Handpiece Button:
The Florida Probe Handpiece is the only constant pressure computerized Probe that allows you to override the standardized force. This is helpful in "walking the sulcus" and insuring the tip is at the bottom of the sulcus. This increases accuracy even on teeth with heavy calculus build-up, tight gingiva or with tooth imperfections.
Special Features:
The printout displays all of the data seen on screen and much more. Each printout contains 2 charts in one with the use of comparison arrows showing positive or negative change from the previous visit. It includes a full written summary, a diagnosis box with ADA insurance codes, the legend, a brushing map and the PSR scores for each probing.
