Capture Patient's Image

There are two different methods of including an image in a patient's chart. You may either load it from a Windows bitmap file (*.BMP) already stored on disk, or directly through a video capture device. Either method may be selected from the Personal Page Options. If you are using a video capture device, you will need to select the appropriate one listed on that page.

To include either an image file or an image using a video capture device press the button on the Personal Page. Depending on which option you have selected, either an Open File dialog or the Capture Image dialog will appear.

When loading an image from a bitmap file, select the file in the Open File dialog and press okay. The file on disk will not be modified.

When capturing an image using a video capture device, the following dialog will appear. The video image may be "frozen" in place using the Freeze button, which will then become a Resume button. If the frozen image is acceptable, press the Save button to load it into the current patient chart. If the frozen image is not acceptable for any reason, you may press the Resume button to try again. At any point you may press the Cancel button to close the Capture Image dialog and not change the image in the current patient chart.

The Capture Image dialog also offers access to Camera Settings. Depending on the type of video capture device, different settings will be available. Many cameras allow you to adjust the size and quality of the image. Although the Capture Image dialog will not display any changes to the image size, the image stored in the database will reflect the camera settings.
